Common Names: Bladder campion
Plant Form: Perennial herb. Size: Up to 1 m tall. Stem: Green or greyish, more or less hairless. Leaves: Opposite, undivided, to 50 x 10 mm. Flowers: Drooping, with hairless, pinkish, richly-veined bladder shape 8-15 mm long that becomes balloon-like in fruit, and white, deeply divided petals 1-2 cm long. Fruit and Seeds: Capsule 5-10 mm long, opening with six teeth. Habitat: Pastures and croplands.
