Cylindropuntia kleiniae

Common Names: Candle cholla

Plant Form: Erect succulent shrub. Size: Up to 2.5 m tall. Stem: Cylindrical, fleshy, many branching, dark green to greyish-green, with woolly hairs and spines at points (areoles). Flowers: Brownish or greenish-pink with reddish or brownish edges. 3-4 cm diameter. Fruit and Seeds: Green to yellow oval-shaped with deep depression at top. 1-5 cm long. Sometimes with a few spines. Habitat: Arid areas, wasteland, railway lines. Distinguishing Features: Combination of features distinguish from other cacti. May be hard to distinguish from other Cylindropuntia species.
