Common Names: Shepherd’s-purse

Plant Form: Erect annual or biennial herb. Size: 5-80 cm tall. Stem: Erect, solitary or branched from the base. Hairless or sparsely hairy. Pale green. Leaves: Oblong lance-shaped with a blunt tip. Usually deeply lobed. Flowers: White with 4 petals and pinkish or green outer parts. Fruit and Seeds: Flattened triangular pods with a notch on the long edge. Contain 20-odd oblong orange-yellow seeds. Habitat: Grasslands, disturbed areas, wetlands, pastures.
