Common Names: Holly-leaed senecio
Plant Form: Erect perennial herb. Size: Up to 1.5 m tall. Stem: Diamond shaped in cross-section, hairless. Leaves: Alternate, fixed to stem, irregularly toothed, hairless, up to 15 cm long. Flowers: Typical daisy flowerheads with pink rays and yellow centre, in a flat-topped grouping at the end of the stems. Fruit and Seeds: 2-3 mm long, with parachuting hairs 7-9 mm long. Habitat: Disturbed sites, agricultural land, woodlands, coastal areas. Distinguishing Features: The attractive pink flowerheads are unusual among Groundsels (Senecio species).
