Common Names: Bitou bush Synonyms: Chrysanthemoides monilifera subsp. rotundata

Plant Form: Shrub. Size: Up to 2 m tall. Stem: Finely hairy when young. Leaves: Alternate, undivided, with mosty smooth edges, narrowing towards base, leathery. Flowers: Yellow daisy-like flowerheads with 11-13 petals, 10-20 mm across. Fruit and Seeds: Fleshy, blackish, egg-shaped fruit 6-8 mm in diameter. Containing a single dark brown to black seed. Habitat: Coastal scrubland, grasslands, woodlands, forests. Distinguishing Features: Fruit egg-shaped, and leaf margins mostly smooth compared to Boneseed (Chrysanthemoides monilifera subsp. monlifera).
