Common Names: Pink Mimosa
Plant Form: Small to medium tree. Size: Up to 14 m tall. Stem: Greyish-green maturing to light brown, smooth. Comparatively narrow. Leaves: Compound with 20-30 pairs of opposite leaflets about 1 cm long each. Flowers: Showy fuzzy bright pink, pom-pom like in cluster of heads. Fruit and Seeds: Brown or straw-coloured flat pod up to 15 cm long, with constrictions between the seeds. Habitat: Woodlands, riparian areas, roadsides, grasslands, floodplains. Distinguishing Features: Showy pink flowers distinguish from other tree legumes (Fabaceae).
