Common Names: Berry heath
Plant Form: Erect woody shrub. Size: Up to 3 m tall. Stem: Smooth, woody with age. Leaves: Typical heath, small, elongated, in whorls of 4 on stems, densely overlapping. Flowers: Small, urn-shaped, bright pink, in groups of 4 at the end of branches. Forming large masses at peak flowering. Fruit and Seeds: Small round capsules releasing many seeds. Habitat: Grassland, heathland, disturbed areas. Distinguishing Features: Combination of listed features distinguish from other Erica species. Impacts: Outcompetes with native vegetation, forms dense thickets.
