Common Names: Wild turnip
Plant Form: Annual rosette herb. Size: Up to 90 cm tall. Stem: With stiff hairs towards the base. Leaves: Deeply lobed, with irregular toothed edges, smooth on top with a dense covering of bristles underneath. Flowers: Typical Mustard family (Brassicaceae) flowers, four pale yellow petals in wide branching groups. Fruit and Seeds: Erect 3-7 cm long pods with a beak at the end and slight constrictions between the seeds. Habitat: Disturbed sites, roadsides, cultivated areas, woodlands, shrublands, sand dunes. Distinguishing Features: Very difficult to distinguish from others in the Mustard family (Brassicaceae).
